About Me

My name is Katelyn Nussbaum and I am an entertainment and makeup artist located in Savannah, Georgia. I have always been interested in all aspects of the art world, however I started to focus in on costumes and costume design in high school. I involved myself in my high school’s costume crew for musicals and found myself getting involved in our school’s up-cycled fashion show; anything that I could do to learn more about costumes and the inner workings of costumes for productions. However, it was in 2014 when Walt Disney World debuted the Festival of Fantasy parade that I would find myself admiring the costumes and how they complemented the sections they were with while not drawing attention away from what most people were there to see: the characters. I found myself mesmerized from the opening Swan Dancers right down to the Bubble Girls at the end.

I gear my art towards making what I want to see more of in the world; things that interest me. For me, art is about motivation. I use my art to motivate myself and think “what is something that I would want to see out in the world”? My costume work gears towards costumes that I would want to see being worn that differ from the original. Whether it is geared towards a specific theme or overlay, I want to design costumes that differ from what is originally done.
